Oregon City, ORE — It’s hardly unusual to hear small-business owners gripe about licensing requirements or complain that heavy-handed regulations are driving them into the red.
So when Multnomah County shut down an enterprise last week for operating without a license, you might just sigh and say, there they go again.
Except this entrepreneur was a 7-year-old named Julie Murphy. Her business was a lemonade stand at the Last Thursday monthly art fair in Northeast Portland. The government regulation she violated? Failing to get a $120 temporary restaurant license.
Serves this little girl right! It looks like little Julie Murphy, 7, just learned a valuable lesson. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, if you’re going to break the law you’re going to get caught and get your shit shut down! I can promise you I would never buy lemonade from this little girl or any other pain-in-the-ass kid. No fucking way! Just who the hell does she think she is! You know she’s wiping her nose, not washing her hands after using the bathroom, I mean she is probably riddled with germs. Just disgusting! Honestly, I think the parents should serve some community service for trying to poison the public with their daughters bacteria-rich lemonade!
I tried buying lemonade from my neighbor’s kids last weekend. The kid gives me a cup of lemonade, forgets to put ice in it…then his brother comes out with a bag of ice from the house, does a big wipe of his hand and arm up against is runny-nose, then proceeds to stick his hand in the bag of ice and fill my lemonade cup with it. That’s the last time I try to do something nice for them. Fucking gross!
Some people might complain, but I applaud the Heath Inspector for this one. Good to know someone has the back and the good of the public. USA! USA! USA!
